Basic Imagery Analyst Course (BIAC)

Graduation title:  Imagery Analyst

Aim: 
To provide the students in-depth knowledge in tactical & strategic imagery and FMV analysis. 
Once the student has successfully completed the BIAC, he/she may be employed in an operational Imagery Analysis team. 

A balanced mixture of theoretical lectures supported with hands-on practical lectures to develop imagery analysis skills  


Training Programme 
The Training Programme of the Imagery Analyst course consists of two stages.


  • Stage 1 is the introduction stage. During this part of the course the students will be familiarised with Intelligence Gathering methods, Reconnaissance principles, gathering systems, threats, mission planning, GeoInt, FMV Tactics, Introduction HUMINT-OSINT, CCIRM, Collateral Damage, High-end sensors (SAR-Hyper Spectral), COIN. 
  • During the 2nd stage, the students are instructed in IA Techniques, Camouflage, Concealment & Deception (CC&D), Battle Damage Assessment (BDA), analysing various types of imagery in 19 standardized subjects/categories*. Each Category will be practiced with still imagery of multiple sensors and spectra and at least with one FMV clip.

Throughout the course six fieldtrips are planned.
  
The course programme consists of 400 hours and takes 10 weeks. The lessons will be conducted in English and given by an international team of experienced instructors. 
The students are instructed and afterwards examined on their knowledge of Imagery Analysis and reporting. The programme also holds a significant practical part in which the students gain a thorough education on IA/PI. Special attention is given to Specific Standards in categories, ISR requests and reports. 
After graduation of the course, the students will receive a diploma and will be considered capable of working as a Junior IA/PI.

Location
The training course will be held at the Vigilance ISR Academy, Eindhoven Airport, the Netherlands.
